CCN Selects Celeno to Enable Smart, Managed Wi-Fi in Home Gateways

Solution Enables CCN to Introduce Additional Services while Ensuring Superlative QoS and Best End User Wi-Fi Experience to Millions of Consumers

Raanana, Israel April 12, 2016 – Celeno Communications, the leading provider of smart, managed Wi-Fi solutions and Chongqing Cable Network MSO, today announced that Celeno’s high performance Wi-Fi technology has been selected to power CCN next generation gateways. The selection of Celeno’s chips and embedded OptimizAIR™ 2.0 Wi-Fi management software technology is a first for a Chinese MSO and will allow CCN to deploy new and innovative services such as community Wi-Fi, as well as meet the growing demand for Video-on-Demand and OTT services to multiple screens and mobile devices throughout the home, while ensuring the highest levels of reliability and performance.

“China is a market with enormous potential, but also one with rapidly growing demands for smart city services such as community Wi-Fi,” said Ronen Peleg, Celeno’s VP of Sales and Business Development. “This deal, with one of the country’s top providers, reaffirms Celeno’s leadership in smart, managed Wi-Fi solutions and will enable the delivery of the best end-user Wi-Fi experience to millions of Chinese citizens”.

Celeno’s smart Wi-Fi software technology OptimizAIR™ 2.0 will enable the virtualization and management of Wi-Fi resources, so that Wi-Fi capacity can be dynamically apportioned and provisioned to different devices, services and applications. It further enables them to offer new services and business models like homespots, IoT, home security and community Wi-Fi on different SSIDs with unprecedented reliability. The technology will also improve Quality of Service (QoS) and Quality of Experience (QoE), thus reducing service calls and operating expenses, expenses that can account for up to 70% of call centre costs.

“With customers having such high expectations of their Wi-Fi, we wanted a solution that will enable us to offer innovative services while ensuring QoS and QoE”, said Zhang Yong, Deputy Chief Engineer at CCN. “Our customers are our first priority and our partnership with Celeno allows us to meet both these requirements”.
