Technology Overview

Celeno's advanced algorithms and system on a chip (SoC) solution provide breakthrough technology that enables a new vision in home wireless networking. Telcos and MSOs have been considering wireless as the preferred technology for high definition home networking. "No new wires" has been a critical requirement for a successful home networking deployment strategy, and wireless has been regarded as the ultimate solution. However, so far, wireless was only considered as a best effort technology that does not meet the strict performance and quality requirements that are necessary for carrier class delivery of content.

Celeno’s technology key differentiator is the ability to deliver the required coverage and throughput but with carrier class deterministic robustness. While some of the existing and emerging solutions may have the required coverage / throughput performance, they lack the required consistency and quality of service since they are best effort in nature. Celeno’s technology delivers the required performance in a deterministic manner, and this is what enables it to serve the most demanding applications – IPTV, VoIP and Data in heterogeneous applications.

Celeno recognized that the dynamic home network environment and high QoS demands of services such as streaming of carrier-class IPTV content require a robust technology that dynamically adapts to fast-changing environmental conditions and user demands, while maximizing the utilization of the transmission media.
