Celeno Communications is a fabless semiconductor startup company developing components and subsystems for carrier-class WiFi systems and networks. Celeno's breakthrough technology enables a new vision in home wireless networking by delivering high definition carrier-class multimedia content throughout the home. Celeno's components provide the boost in throughput, coverage, and QoS necessary to deliver multiple HDTV, SDTV, VoIP and Data "triple play" services over the home network.
Celeno's core competency is based on spatial radio switching combined with adaptive channel coding, dynamic time-space scheduling, and multimedia QoS optimization. The technology targets applications requiring the highest level of system performance (capacity and reach), consistent carrier-class multimedia QoS, and tight security protection.

Our Name: Celeno as a Star
We are sometimes asked about our name. Celeno is a star in the Pleiades, a cluster of very beautiful and dazzling stars that forms the eye of the bull in the constellation of Taurus. Without a telescope, you can see six or seven of the 100 or so stars in the Pleiades. Seven bright stars in the cluster helped guide Greek sailors home: Alcyone, Merope, Taygeta, Sterope, Electra, Maia and our namesake Celeno. They are named for the sisters and the daughters of Atlas, the mythical figure who supported the world. We thought Celeno was an appropriate name for a company providing a dazzling "star" technology that supports bringing the world a new vision of home networking.
