Alpha Networks Selects Celeno CL1300 Wi-Fi Beamforming Chip to Enable HD Wireless Video Streaming Applications
New video access point is bundled with Alpha’s digital home and broadband gateways portfolio to support service providers and retail applications

(TAIEX: 3380), a global leader in the networking ODM/OEM industry, announced today that Alpha has selected the Celeno CL1300 chipset for its next generation Beamforming-enabled Wi-Fi access point for optimized HD video streaming. Alpha will bundle this device with its extensive line of wireless networking and digital home devices to offer its customers a whole new HD experience.

Long range, robustness and top performance
Reliable delivery of wireless HD video home networking has been sought by service providers and consumers for a long time. Celeno CL1300, powered by Celeno's OptimizAIR™ cross-layer optimization technology, is a field-proven solution for video over Wi-Fi distribution. An industry-first implicit transmit 4x4 beam forming solution provides long distance coverage in rich multipath home environments. When combined with a special real time antenna diversity scheme, it effectively prevents channel fading and radio fluctuations. Real time channel tracking supports robust rate selection and MAC TDM scheduling to guarantee service of concurrent and different multiple HD streams. Packet loss is minimized to levels which allow hours of HD watching without a single packet drop (better than 10E-8 packet error rate).
