Bezeq and Celeno to Jointly Pilot Advanced Home Networking Applications in Israel
Celeno’s Wi-Fi technology enables reliable wireless streaming of HD video content throughout the entire home
Tel Aviv, Israel, September 10, 2009 Celeno Communications, a leading provider of semiconductors for multimedia Wi-Fi home networking applications, and Bezeq, Israel’s largest telecommunications provider, announced today they will jointly pilot innovative services over Celeno’s Wi-Fi home networking technology. During the pilot, Bezeq will distribute premium services in the home using Celeno's robust, Wi-Fi home networking solution. As part of this pilot project, the companies plan to launch a number of home networking managed services including streaming "over the top" internet video content from the broadband router to multiple media adaptors, sharing HD content around the home between multiple devices (computers, storage devices and TV’s), and more.

Bezeq’s NGN network is the most advanced broadband network in Israel, based on tens of thousands of optical fibers that Bezeq is currently installing throughout Israel in order to create a new and sophisticated telecommunications network that will provide ultra-fast Internet and advanced telephone services. Over 100,000 Bezeq customers are already connected to the NGN and enjoy new innovative services.
Bezeq’s NGN provides homes in Israel with high throughput broadband access of up to 50Mbps. Customers will be able now to consume new, bandwidth hungry content such as multimedia, video and gaming. Celeno’s solution complements the NGN capabilities by enabling wireless high throughput home networking that will allow the streaming of this content around the home.
Celeno’s Wi-Fi technology has been optimized for HD video streaming applications in the home and delivers the best-in-class robustness, throughput and coverage required for such demanding applications.
